Please join us as we welcome Guy Robertson, disaster planning and risk management consultant for libraries, archives and information centres, to the first VALL Seminar of the 2009-2010 year. Guy graduated from UBC’s School of Librarianship in 1981 and for over 20 years has been active in preparing organizations for contingencies of all kinds. His current projects include a business continuity plan, an anti-terrorist / anti-sabotage plan, a privacy and information security program, and the development of procedures to combat money laundering. In addition to his career as a consultant, Guy teaches at SLAIS, UBC, and at Langara in the areas of library history, risk management, management of information organizations, rare books, records management and various special topics.
