Article in CALL's CLLR: The Middle Office
The current issue of the Canadian Association of Law Libraries' Canadian Law Library Review includes Euan Sinclair's feature article, The Middle Office as a Bottom Line Contributor. It is an interesting argument for collaboratively expanding the impact within law firms by the professionals in the middle: those in law libraries, IT, knowledge management, competitive intelligence, business research, etc. He closes the piece with, "..the middle office has to stop thinking in terms of being a back office function, one step removed from clients. Instead, the middle office must step up to the firing line and join the front office as a valued strategic business partner in providing excellent service to the firm's clients."
Euan, Director of Knowledge Management for Lawson Lundell, delivered a "middle office" presentation last spring to a joint VALL/BCLMA seminar.
