Our client is a reputable local law firm, and they are seeking an enthusiastic law Librarian on a permanent, full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be a librarian with extensive law firm experience, and/or a research lawyer who can maintain the library and also provide legal advice. Duties will include:

  • Management of the library
  • Ordering books
  • Research and searches
  • Maintaining the database and catalogue
  • Preparing memos
  • Training/assisting staff as required
  • Preparing the library budget
  • Setting up access for accounts, and maintaining the Intranet site

Candidates will require a minimum of 5 years of previous experience in a library in a legal environment, with a Law, MLIS, MLS or equivalent degree required. Strong computer skills (especially with MS Office) and other online resources and databases (WestlawNext, LexisNexis, CanLII, RSS feeds) are also required.
