Ascendion Law is a business litigation boutique with aspirations to revolutionise the business and practice of law.  We act for clients in a wide-range of "bet the business" white collar crime and regulatory defence cases, corporate and commercial disputes, and many others. We have also started a new innovative service to address the underserved Small Claims market. You could be part of this pioneering team.

Your duties will include:

  • manage our online Small Claims client support and service system;
  • provide legal information (not advice) to members of the public with our online assets;
  • develop and grow our precedent system;
  • manage our community presence online;
  • re-design and engineer our client intake forms and processes;
  • expand our existing online quantitative legal information services;
  • working with our lawyers as we marry learning algorithms into our document discovery process

You will be involved in all aspects of the law firm, including client service, middle office operations, marketing and business development, and service innovation.

We look forward to meeting applicants who have experience in:

  • building and managing taxonomies for lawyers and the general public;
  • designing online client experiences and service journeys;
  • business process automation;
  • precedent curation and collation;
  • document automation;

We are a small law firm with big aspirations.  Last year, we were one lawyer/founder and one legal assistant.  In just under six months, we are three and a half lawyers - and we expect to grow in 2018 as we expand our Small Claims business. This job is an excellent opportunity to start at the beginning of an exciting entrepreneurial journey with a firm that has innovation and not "doing it because we've always done it that way" grown into its DNA.

Currently, we are looking for someone part-time - approximately 10-12 hours a week.  We are built "mobile first".  Work from home.  Work from a cafe. Work outside.  Work anytime.  We will need about an hour each day during the work day, but the rest of the work can be completed on weekends or evenings if necessary.  However, we expect and forecast that this position will grow to full-time hours within 18-24 months.  We offer competitive compensation (we will benchmark against payscale.com, ca.indeed.com), flexible hours, primary and extended health benefits.
