• McEwan and Partners – Request for hourly Librarian services

McEwan and Partners is a small litigation firm that specializes in corporate and commercial work. We have a small “library” in the form of a few shelves of texts, many of which are no longer up to date. While our students and lawyers of course do research online, we feel it is always helpful to have current texts and looseleaf reference books as well.  We are moving to new premises in the spring (further away from the courthouse library) and believe it would be a good opportunity to get a real “library” going with ongoing services of a librarian. We certainly do not require a full-time librarian or even a part-time one at all times, but wish to find someone who would work at an hourly rate as needed to catalogue what we have now; figure what we need or would find useful; and set up the space in the new premises when the time comes. Then once that’s done, we would hope our librarian would come by regularly — say every couple of months — to keep our looseleafs and texts up to date, and perhaps to advise us on electronic resources — including AI — to the extent it may be useful.
