Job Posting: Reference Librarian, Lawson Lundell LLP, Vancouver
Lawson Lundell LLP is currently seeking a full-time librarian to perform a variety of duties in our Vancouver law library, which also serves our offices in Calgary, Kelowna, and Yellowknife.
Under the direction of the library manager, the librarian will:
Provide reference, research and current awareness services to our lawyers, articling students, and legal support staff
Deliver training, coaching and assistance on legal research processes and resources to articling students and new lawyers
Oversee access and training for all print and online resources
Attend lawyers’ practice group meetings as information-resources liaison, alternating with library manager
Coordinate other information projects, as required
Qualified applicants will have:
A graduate degree in Library Studies from an accredited institution
Experience in and/or demonstrated aptitude for legal research, using print and electronic resources
An in-depth understanding of library applications and the ability to work closely with our vendors to resolve problems and integrate new products
An aptitude for detail and accuracy, and the ability to work independently under time constraints
Grace under pressure
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
