Please join VALL for our final June seminar, “Canada’s First Online Tribunal” with guest speaker Shannon Salter.
As well as being the chair of the Civil Resolution Tribunal, Shannon Salter is an adjunct professor at the UBC Allard School of Law, teaching administrative law and legal ethics. She earned her BA and LLB from UBC, and her LLM from the University of Toronto. Ms. Salter was a BC Supreme Court judicial law clerk before practicing civil litigation and serving as a vice chair of the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal. Ms. Salter is a commissioner of the Financial Institutions Commission, vice president of the BC Council of Administrative Tribunals, and a board member of CanLII. She also co-authored the BC Administrative Decision Maker’s Manual.
The CRT is moving towards resolving strata property and small claims at the convenience of the public with the implementation of a brand new online system. Come learn more about this innovative access to justice project, which leverages technology to help parties resolve their disputes by agreement.

Location: The Law Courts Inn. 800 Smithe Street, 4th Floor. The restaurant is located inside the Law Courts building. Enter through the main doors (off of Nelson street), go up the main flight of stairs and straight to the end of the main hall.
