• Lightning Talks 2024 – New Date and Deadline!

Due to extenuating circumstances, the Lightning Talks 2024 have been re-scheduled for Wednesday, May 1st from 12-1 PM via Zoom. This means that the deadline for proposals has been extended to Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

We still need volunteers! Please see the information on submission requirements below.

Lightning Talks distill a larger topic into a 5 to 10 minute overview of the most relevant material. Presenters of all levels are invited to share recent innovative library projects in various stages of development (such as weeding projects), interesting research and new approaches to providing services in public, private and academic law libraries. We welcome a diverse range of topics, both big and small, relating to legal information management, and encourage you to share your recent experiences and insights.

For inspiration, please visit the Members Only section of the VALL website to view the video recording of VALL’s past Lightning Talks: “Current Projects”  presented on September 29, 2022.

Proposals should be no more than one or two paragraphs summarizing your topic. Please submit your proposal by email to vallexec@gmail.com by April 3rd, 2024 for consideration. Consider addressing the following questions in your proposal:

    • What is the title of your lightning talk?
    • What is the primary point you want to convey to the audience?
    • What new information will your audience have by the end of your talk?
    • Why are you interested in/passionate about this topic?
    • Why should VALL members know more about your topic?

Up to five (5) presentations will be accepted for this session. Invited presenters will be notified by email from the VALL Executive Committee by Monday, April 8, 2024.
